Questions and Answers

Thank you for asking! “Mrs. Wiggles and the Numbers” goal is to help more children, especially girls, become comfortable with math and numbers. But it’s not just a counting book, it’s a book about kindness, inclusivity, and the importance of everyone. It’s easy to be part of a Kickstarter campaign!

Why a Kickstarter Campaign?

There are lots of reasons! But here are a few of the top ones…

  • Helping Others: By using a  Kickstarter campaign, I can help donate books to schools and daycares. I want all children to be able to own books, and have the opportunity to love numbers.
  • Connect: I get to connect with YOU. When you buy my book through a traditional retailer, I don’t know who is buying my books.  What do you like, dislike, or want in a children’s book? Your voice is important to me!
  • Market: There are really only five major publishing companies. There are many gatekeepers, and unless you’re writing what they’re looking to sell, there aren’t many other outlets for creative people.
  • Business: If I can presell a larger quantity of books, I can eventually reduce the printing costs, and cost of the book.
  • Fun:  Prizes and rewards are only available during the Kickstarter campaign. Some may never be offered again, such as Q & A sessions,  workshops, etc. It’s like a birthday party for a book!

What is a Kickstarter Campaign?

  • Kickstarter is a website that highlights lots of creative projects that you can support. The company’s statement is to “help bring creative projects to life.”
  • Kickstarter also takes a portion of the total, but it’s a platform to be able to reach you.
  • Mrs. Wiggles and the Numbers campaign is a little different because I want to also donate books to schools and daycares to help teachers, parents, and children.
  • The Madison Reading Project, a non-profit organization, is going to kindly help distribute the majority of donated books.

How can you help?

  1. Click the Kickstarter Campaign button below.
  2. Use the Share buttons and share the campaign with family and friends!
Thanks!

Kickstarter is an “all or nothing” platform. That means, if I don’t make my funding goal, I don’t receive ANY donations, and rewards aren’t sent out. That makes it really important for me to hit my goal.  Sadly, it will not be possible to distribute the books to the Madison Reading Project and to children in schools.

When is the Kickstarter Campaign?

  • The Kickstarter campaign is really short—only 30 days—and it’s essential to get as many people as possible on board within the first two days.
  • Your support is greatly appreciated on launch day, Sept. 20th, in the form of backing the campaign and/or sharing the campaign on your Facebook timeline, blog post, or by emailing it to another person.
